Job description
A full-time pharmacology opportunity is available in Bakersfield, CA, for a Compounding Pharmacist on a contract basis through July 2026, with the possibility of permanent placement.
Responsibilities:
Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding activities ensuring accuracy and safety
Perform final verification of prescriptions prior to dispensing
Fill, label, and prepackage medications according to established protocols
Maintain clear communication with healthcare providers for orders, clarifications, and refills
Counsel patients and address their medication-related questions
Ensure strict compliance with USP 795, 797, 800 standards and Board of Pharmacy regulations
Schedule: Monday through Friday
8:15 AM to 5:15 PM
Desired Qualifications: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
Active California Pharmacist license is required
Three to five years of pharmacy experience, with a preference for compounding background
Experience in retail pharmacy settings considered a plus
Strong communication abilities and organizational skills to manage workflow effectively
