Job description
A contract opportunity is available for a full-time retail pharmacist to support multiple sites across Iowa, primarily based in Dubuque. The assignment begins July 13 and lasts approximately 13 weeks, providing a dynamic role floating between several locations including Preston, Bellevue, Independence, and Monticello. This position is ideal for a pharmacist with retail experience who thrives in a fast-paced and varied work environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Dispensing medications accurately and ensuring their safe and efficient delivery under manager supervision
Counseling patients on medication regimens and providing advice tailored to their needs
Addressing patient inquiries, concerns, and complaints in line with organizational policies
Maintaining stock levels and managing controlled drug records and inventories
Resolving patient issues, including clarifying third-party insurance coverage
Qualifications and Experience: Active and clear pharmacist license in Iowa
Minimum of 1 year experience in a retail pharmacy setting
Ability to manage workflow in a high-volume environment (with Dubuque handling prescriptions daily)
Proficiency with McKesson Enterprise software preferred
Flexibility to travel between multiple pharmacy locations, with travel times ranging up to approximately 75 minutes from Dubuque
Schedule/Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm or 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Occasional half-day Saturdays as needed
