Job description
An experienced retail pharmacy technician is sought for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Cleveland, OH, focusing on specialty pharmacy services. This role supports patients managing complex medication regimens, often taking 8-15 medications daily, requiring strong communication skills, patience, and solid knowledge of commonly prescribed retail medications.
Location: Cleveland, OH
Job Type: Contract to hire (13 weeks)
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP
Responsibilities:
Accurately dispense and prepare medications using pharmacy software (experience with Rx30 is highly desirable)
Assist patients, many with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis
Provide compassionate and clear communication to a diverse patient population, including Medicare/Medicaid recipients and individuals with low literacy levels
Support pharmacists and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
Maintain detailed and accurate medication records
Qualifications and Desired Experience: Previous retail pharmacy technician experience, ideally in a specialty retail setting
Familiarity with complex patient medication regimens
Proficient use of Rx30 or similar pharmacy management software
Strong communication skills and the ability to work patiently with individuals with chronic conditions and low health literacy
Valid Ohio pharmacy technician license required; PTCB certification highly preferred but not mandatory
