Job description
A retail pharmacy is seeking two skilled Pharmacists to join their team in Johnson City, NY, located in Upstate New York. This contract role provides an excellent opportunity for licensed pharmacists to apply their expertise in a fast-paced retail environment starting as soon as possible. The initial contract duration is 13 weeks with potential for extension.
Responsibilities:
Accurately verify and dispense prescriptions according to established protocols
Provide patient counseling to ensure safe and effective medication use
Supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy technicians to maintain operational efficiency
Maintain compliance with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
Collaborate with healthcare providers and patients to optimize pharmaceutical care
Qualifications: Active New York State Pharmacist license required
Previous retail pharmacy experience preferred to confidently handle typical workflow demands
Strong communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately verify prescriptions and detect potential issues
Ability to supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff effectively
Location: Johnson City, New York (Upstate)
