Job description
This role offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute as a Staff Pharmacist in a community pharmacy setting located in La Luz, NM. The position operates on a contract basis, with flexible schedules designed to support both patient care and team collaboration.
Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Closed weekends and six major holidays at the primary location
Occasional weekend coverage may be required at the secondary retail location
Qualifications and Experience: Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing, or willingness to obtain one prior to start
Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive licenses
Minimum one year of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred
APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
Ability and willingness to cover shifts at the secondary retail location, including occasional weekends
Comfortable with travel and availability for assignments of 13 weeks or longer; shorter durations considered
Responsibilities: Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders in compliance with protocols
Maintain precise patient medication profiles
Supervise and direct pharmacy technicians, verifying daily activities
Participate in medical emergency response efforts
Conduct inspections of medication storage areas and identify expired medications
Provide orientation and training for new team members
Follow strict infection control protocols throughout all pharmacy operations
Ideal candidates will have solid retail pharmacy experience, strong patient counseling skills, and be comfortable leading a pharmacy technician team. Adaptability across primary and secondary locations and a commitment to exemplary patient care are essential.
