Job description
A healthcare facility specializing in pediatric care is seeking a skilled pharmacist to fill a nighttime staff pharmacist role. This position offers the opportunity to impact the lives of young patients while working within a dynamic and supportive environment. The role is a six-month contract starting immediately, with potential for transition to a day shift later in the year.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert pharmaceutical care during the night shift, covering 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
Manage inpatient medication orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital protocols.
Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication management and inventory control.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapies, with an emphasis on pediatric needs.
Prepare for and potentially transition to a day shift covering an FMLA absence starting mid-year.
Qualifications and Desired Experience: Valid Texas pharmacist license.
Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.
Proficiency with Pyxis automated dispensing systems.
Inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably in a pediatric hospital setting.
Ability to work independently during overnight hours.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Schedule: Night shift: 7 days on, 7 days off.
Hours: 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM.
