Staff Pharmacist Opportunity

As a per diem, nonexempt Staff Pharmacist, you will fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain the security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy; and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy. The pharmacy utilizes Omnicell and Cerner including E-Mar and CPOE.
About the Facility: Via Linda Behavioral Hospital is a 120-bed hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona, specializing in mental health services and substance use treatment for teens and adults experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders and co-occurring addictions.
Pharmacy Hours: Pharmacy hours are Monday-Friday from 6:30am-9:30pm. Saturday and Sunday hours 8am-2pm.
Schedule: This per diem, nonexempt position will provide coverage to cover PTO, weekends and holidays as needed. There are no regularly scheduled hours for this position.
Primary Responsibilities:
Review, verify, and dispense medication orders to ensure appropriateness, safety, and accuracy
Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication regimens for hospitalized patients
Monitor patient outcomes and medication safety, identifying and preventing adverse drug events
Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring efficient and compliant workflow
Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance, including Joint Commission, state, and federal requirements

Required Qualifications:
BS or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy
Current Arizona Pharmacist license in good standing
Experience using MS Office and pharmacy information systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an inpatient hospital environment
Experience in mental health and/or substance abuse disorders
Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $44 - $79 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
