nSalary Range: $60.00 To $60.00 Hourly
nSummary:
nPrepares, compounds, dispenses, and sells prescriptions and Pharmacy-related products, answers patient questions, participates in patient assistance and other quality assurance programs, under the functional supervision of the Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC).
nEssential Job Functions:
nnnComplying with all applicable laws and regulations
n
nnAssisting with the direction and monitoring of Pharmacy personnel and performance as directed
n
nnPreparing, compounding, dispensing, and selling prescriptions and Pharmacy-related products
n
nnParticipating in patient assistance and quality assurance programs as directed
n
nnFollowing proper Pharmacy and regulatory safety procedures and standards
n
nnSubmitting appropriate claims for third-party reimbursement
n
nnConsulting with physicians and nurses regarding pharmaceutical questions
n
nnProviding patient/ clients with counseling and education
n
nnMonitoring storage, distribution, and use of pharmaceuticals
n
nnEnsuring that patients/ clients are evaluated for appropriateness of therapy provided by the Pharmacy
n
nnDocumenting and reporting medication errors to the PIC
n
nnMaintaining records of all transactions of the Pharmacy as necessary to ensure accurate control over and accountability for all drugs as required by applicable state and federal laws and regulations
n
nnOverseeing prescription processing activities to ensure that quality and standard of practice is maintained
n
nnParticipating in regular personnel meetings as necessary
n
nnMaintaining inventory and stock levels consistent with Pharmacy goals and manufacturer protocols
n
nnCommunicating in a timely manner with customers, physicians, vendors, and colleagues
n
nnUnderstanding confidentiality with respect to patient/ client care; complying with all federal and state laws applicable to confidentiality and disposal of protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (EPHI); and following HIPAA guidelines regarding readily identifiable protected health information
n
nnAdministering immunizations
n
nnUpdating vaccination schedules from Center for Disease Control (CDC)
n
nnProperly securing and maintaining controlled substances
n
nnOperating the state prescription drug monitoring program
n
nnProperly disposing of hazardous waste drugs
n
nnComplying with the legal requirements for pseudoephedrine sales
n
nnComplying with Medicare Durable Medical Equipment (DME) guidelines
n
nnOverseeing return to stock processing
n
nnComplying with Continuing Medical Education (CME) Fraud, Waste, and Abuse
n
nnProperly documenting requirements for Medicare Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
n
nnOther duties as assigned by supervisor

n nEducation and Experience:
nnnBachelor’s or advanced degree in pharmacy from an accredited institution
n
nnLicensed as a registered pharmacist with an unrestricted license in the state of employment and be eligible for pharmacy licensure elsewhere
n
nnImmunization certified preferred
n
nnPrior pharmacy experience preferred
n
n nThe listed salary range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
