Job description
A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist ready to provide expert medication management and patient care services. This 8-week contract position requires a flexible schedule to accommodate varying shift times and weekend rotations.
Location:
Fridley/Minneapolis area, MN
Schedule: Flexible shifts: 9:30 AM-6:00 PM, 10:00 AM-6:30 PM, or 11:00 AM-8:30 PM
Must rotate Saturdays and Sundays
Responsibilities: Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications
Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns
Ensure all medication supplies comply with legal standards
Verify prescribed medications are appropriate for patients' needs
Maintain confidential, detailed patient records and pharmacy files
Counsel patients on proper medication use, side effects, and interactions
Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription products
Deliver patient services including smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management
Educate patients on proper use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors
Compound medications for internal and external use, preparing sterile solutions per protocols
Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
Manage pharmaceutical and medical inventory efficiently
Identify and address drug-related problems in collaboration with healthcare professionals
Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current valid Minnesota pharmacist license in-hand
Open to retail pharmacists seeking training and experience in this setting
Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
Strong communication and organizational skills
