Job description
Staff Product Data Scientist role focused on metrics, analytics infrastructure, and self-serve reporting for Communications & Time Management (CTM) across Gmail, Chat, and Calendar.
Responsibilities
Lead research and development of metric frameworks to quantify user engagement and productivity .
Develop new methodologies to assess the impact of GenAI and agentic tooling embedded in Workspace products, including effectiveness, adoption, and efficiency gains.
Serve as a strategic connector between product engineering and central data infrastructure teams.
Mobilize resources and influence partner roadmaps while driving complex, multi-team telemetry and infrastructure efforts from inception through execution.
Design and build scalable data models and analytics architecture that connect data across multiple product domains.
Ensure analytics cohesion across Workspace rather than keeping product-specific data in isolated silos.
Scope and execute initiatives to enable self-serve analytics .
Design unified semantic layers , governed metric stores , and high-impact executive dashboards .
Lead next-generation AI-powered self-serve analytics tooling.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
10+ years using analytics to solve product or business problems, including statistical analysis and coding (e.g., Python , R , SQL ).
Alternative qualification: 8+ years work experience plus a Master's degree .
