Job description
Join Warren State Hospital as a Staff Psychiatrist and help guide individuals toward meaningful recovery. This position focuses on providing complete psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and leadership within a clinical setting. As a Staff Psychiatrist, you will perform the following duties:
Patient Evaluation: Conduct detailed psychiatric examinations and make accurate diagnoses using accepted clinical standards
Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans that promote patient improvement and long-term stability
Team Leadership: Lead interdisciplinary team meetings and ensure that treatment recommendations are properly implemented
Emergency Response: Provide direction during psychiatric and medical emergencies; and apply appropriate interventions
Clinical Documentation: Prepare reports, treatment reviews, and progress notes; and maintain complete clinical chart entries
Collaboration Duties: Work with and oversee psychiatric nurse practitioners and maintain compliance with professional standards
Work Schedule and Additional Information
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Overtime and travel may be required
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
Completion of a residency or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
Special Requirements
This position requires possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
Other Requirements
PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements
You must pass a background investigation.
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
