Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack at CLEAR in New York, NY
CLEAR is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack for a full-time position located in New York, NY . Posted on September 11, 2026, with applications open until November 11, 2026, this role invites you to help build the next generation of products beyond traditional ID, enabling members to leverage a networked digital identity platform.
Core Responsibilities & Tech Stack
You will participate in the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of applications that interconnect dozens of attributes and qualifications while maintaining core member privacy and security. Your main responsibilities include:
Advancing capabilities across industries, gaining hands-on experience with privacy, security, data modeling, and architecture.
Developing and delivering full-stack code while driving engineering excellence through best practices in testing, documentation, and observability.
Partnering with product and other stakeholders to uncover requirements, innovate, and solve complex problems.
Exercising a strong sense of ownership for architectural decision-making and continuous improvement.
The tech stack powering CLEAR's platform features:
Java, Python, React, and TypeScript
Kafka and Postgres
AWS cloud infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and Argo
Key Qualifications
Candidates applying for this role should possess the following expertise:
9+ years of fullstack software development experience.
Cloud-based application development fluency using AWS, containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and deployment tools like GitHub and Argo.
