Are you living your life's work?Location: 595 West State Street, Doylestown Pa 18901Hours: Regular Part TimeJob Summary:Transport soiled instruments from all areas of hospital (OR, VASC & CATH LAB, LDRP, IRAD and ER) as well as responsible for delivering sterile instruments to all these areas as well.Accountabilities:• Safely transports instruments/trays/supplies in a timely manner• Delivers and retrieves instruments/trays from procedural areas within given timeframes• Checks surgical instruments being retrieved from the procedural areas to ensure instruments are wiped free of blood and enzymatic solution has been applied• Understands the needs and expectations of sterile processing and procedural areas• Demonstrates basic knowledge of sterile instrumentation process• Has an overall understanding of the various areas of the department and the standards/rules that apply• Demonstrates knowledge in identification of sterilized vs non-sterilized instruments• Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills in operating of instrument washers and cart washing equipment.• Demonstrates safe handling techniques and follows necessary precautions• Demonstrates safe handling of equipment in order to protect him/herself and others.• Transports trays/instruments utilizing proper precautions.• Demonstrates positive and effective communication skills• Contributes to a cohesive and productive environment.• Demonstrates critical thinking skills in order to prioritize assignments• Seeks supervision and clarification of performance when appropriate• Utilizes effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others including vendors and other associates• Demonstrates initiative in completion of assigned work• Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures• Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organizationQualifications:HS Diploma/ GED RequiredWe believe that the best care for our patients starts with the best care for our employees.
