Job description
Sterile Processing TechnicianStaff dedicated to instrument picking for surgical and procedural cases. Must have case cart experience. Notify the supervisor upon arrival. Change into surgical scrubs before starting work. Bathrooms are located down the hall through the double doors, turn left through another set of double doors, and the bathrooms will be on the right. Scrub jackets from outside are not permitted. Scrubs must be returned to the linen hamper next to the blue scrub cart after the shift. Hairnets and shoe covers are required. No earbuds are allowed while working. Badge access is required for all necessary locations. If badge access is not working, a temporary badge can be obtained. Supervisors will provide training on how to pick instruments if not previously taught. After all cases are picked, check carts for missing instruments and attempt to locate them. Ensure the carts are organized by the time of surgery. Take items from the put-away shelves and scan them into their usual locations. Check carts for missing materials as noted on the case cart pick list. Items that are circled were not found for the procedure. Use the bin location to find the required materials and restock the carts. If restocking is completed, ask staff in materials how to help with returned supplies. All trays and instruments must be scanned to check them into the cart. Tracking of instruments is essential for health and safety reasons.
