Job description

Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) Team LeadTeam Lead Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 15:00 - 23:30 Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of sterile processing experience required. License: Certifications: National certifications in CBSPD and/or CRCST HSPA required. Must-Have: Prior leadership experience required. Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems preferred.Description: Sterile Processing Supervisor. Preference given to those interested in a permanent opportunity. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity. Shift is Monday through Friday, 15:00 to 23:30 with holiday rotation. Weekend requirement is not needed. May be required to float to other facilities under extenuating circumstances. Directly supervise lead technicians, technicians I, II, III, and non-certified technicians across all sterile processing work areas, including decontamination, preparation, packing, sterilization, case carts, and sterile storage. Provide daily assignments based on workload, case volume, and departmental priorities. Oversee instrument tracking systems, documentation accuracy, and inventory control. Coordinate daily sterile processing operations to meet surgical and procedural case demands. Monitor tray turnaround times, instrument availability, and case cart readiness. Troubleshoot equipment, instrument, and workflow issues in real time. Ensure proper segregation of clean and dirty workflows and adherence to infection prevention practices. Ensure compliance with applicable guidelines and regulatory standards. Audit tray assembly accuracy, count sheets, peel packs, and labeling requirements. Address service concerns and implement service recovery measures when needed. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings related to instrumentation, workflow, and quality initiatives. Monitor adherence to infection control, safety, and universal precautions across the department. Organize, store, and distribute instruments, trays, and equipment to ensure availability. Prepare instrument trays and equipment for sterilization processes. Experience required in sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping in sterile processing. Preferred experience in neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and GYN cases. Travelers should be aware that all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season. Important compliance procedures must be adhered to prior to the start date. All labs must be completed within the specified timeframe. Modules are included in non-billable hours and are to be completed pre-start.
