Sterile Processing Tech - EveningsNorth Central Surgical Center is a Baylor Scott & White affiliated hospital located in Dallas, TX. You will work directly with the most elite physicians and play a key role in providing outstanding quality care for all of our patients and doctors.Opened in 2005, 14 Operating Rooms and 30 Medical/Surgical Patient Rooms. We are conveniently located at Walnut Hill & 75 in the prestigious NorthPark area. Specialties include: Orthopedics, Spine, General Surgery, Pain Management, Urology, GI/Endoscopy, Plastic, and Podiatry surgeries. Managed by United Surgical Partners International and Joint Commission Accredited.The North Central Surgical Center is seeking a Full-Time Sterile Processing Technician to join our team for the Evening Shift Monday - Friday (3p - 11p). This position is eligible for the Full-Time Benefits Package and an evening shift differential rate!The Sterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation. Sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases to serve mainly at the Main Hospital SPD Department. As the Sterile Processing Technician at North Central Surgical Center, you will contribute to the team by:Daily management of the instrument room.Maintains the inventory of instrumentation and supplies necessary for the smooth functioning of the instrument room.Responsible for the maintenance of purchased and/or borrowed implant sets.Communicates and works effectively with all personnel, physicians, and hospital departments.Demonstrates dependability and accountability.Seeks continued growth and education.Sterilize instruments, equipment, utensils, linen and supplies using various types of autoclaves and aerator.Assemble and wrap material, instruments and supplies according to established aseptic technique.Pulls supplies and instruments for all surgical cases.Disassemble and clean equipment using approved disinfectants, detergents, soaps and cleaners.Reassembles equipment after cleaning and operates to test for proper functioning; replace lost or damaged parts.Required Skills:Must be a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution TechnicianHigh School Diploma or Equivalent2-3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician.Experience with all types of sterilizers.Knows operating room instrumentation.Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.Understands Sterrad sterilizers.Ability to prepare reports and keep records.Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.As an organization, we provide employees with the resources, tools, and support to serve our patients and customers in the best way possible.
