Sterile Processing Technician IIIThe Sterile Processing Technician III is a certified technician whose areas of responsibilities cover decontamination, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to established standards/guidelines. The SP Tech III demonstrates personal and professional effectiveness when working in an indirect patient care department and addressing the request of the customer or provider.Minimum Qualifications:Education: High School Diploma or GED AND Central Service Technology Course/Or EquivalentWork Experience: (at least one year experience in central sterile processing)Licenses & Certifications: One of the following: CRCST, CSPDT, or CRMST AND One of the following: CIS or CERWork Experience: a) Three (3) years' experience with Central Sterile ProcessingCommunication Skills:a) Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)b) Writing/Reports: Legible handwriting and coherent writingProficiencies:a) PC: Skills must be appropriate to meet the job requirementsJob Attributes Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:a) Medical Terms: Surgical/Medical Terminology Knowledge, Critical Thinking, Multi-task in a fast-paced environment, Ability to lead projects, Monitor and interpret results of gauges and graphs & Research surgical instruments and supply companies.Work Schedule:a) Flexibleb) Weekendsc) On-Calld) HolidaysOther Special Requirements Equipment Operated:Sterilization Equipment, Decontamination Equipment, Computer/printer, Elevator System, Endoscopic Re-processors, Heat Sealer, Biological Incubators, Bar code Scanners Computer software, Temperature Monitors, and Equipment Gauges, Visual Screen Monitors, Digital Camera, and Inter-department Paging System
