Job description
Sterile Processing TechThis is a temporary to permanent opportunity for a Sterile Processing Technician. The selected candidate will work 5 consecutive 8-hour night shifts, from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a rotation for holidays and weekends required.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and tools.Maintain the sterile processing area in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.Assist in the setup and processing of a variety of surgical cases, including but not limited to neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedic, transplant, and gynecological procedures.Float to sister facilities as needed to meet departmental needs.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.Required: Experience in sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping.Level 1 Trauma experience is mandatory.National certifications: CBSPD and/or HSPA are required.BLS certification is not required for this position.Expectations and PoliciesRegistered Time Off (RTO) must be provided at the time of submission; late approvals cannot be accommodated.Employees may expect to work during holidays if not indicated in RTO.A maximum of 1 call-off is allowed every 2 weeks, with documentation required for multiple call-outs.Being part of the inclement weather response team is expected; guidelines will be provided by management.Facility HighlightsType: Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Designation.Total Staffed Beds: 820.Parking fees apply for nights and weekends, with a one-time payment for a parking pass.Additional InformationPlease be aware that during hurricane season (June through November), all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams.
