Sterile Processing SupervisorOpportunity Type: Temporary to PermanentShift: 5x8s, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Monday - Friday) with holiday rotationFloating Requirements: May float between main sterile processing department (SPD) and central sterile department (CSC) as needed. May also require floating to sister facilities.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervision and Leadership (30%): Directly supervise Lead Technicians, Tech I, II, III, and Non-Certified Technicians across all SPD work areas including decontamination, preparation/packaging, sterilization, and sterile storage.Assign daily tasks based on workload, case volume, and prioritization of departmental needs.Oversee instrument tracking systems, ensuring documentation accuracy and inventory control.Collaborate with the Educator/Manager on orientation and training plans.Department Advancement and Expectations (30%): Coordinate daily SPD operations to meet surgical and procedural case demands.Monitor tray turnaround times, instrument availability, and case cart readiness.Troubleshoot equipment, instrument, and workflow issues in real-time.Ensure proper segregation of clean/dirty workflows and adherence to infection prevention practices.Maintain compliance with AAMI ST79, AORN guidelines, CDC recommendations, and regulatory standards.Coordination and Management of Specialty Services (30%): Audit tray assembly accuracy, count sheets, peel packs, and labeling requirements.Address service concerns and implement service recovery as needed.Participate in interdisciplinary meetings related to instrumentation, workflow, and quality initiatives.Sterile Processing Duties (10%): Monitor adherence to infection control, safety, and universal precautions across the department.Organize, store, and distribute instruments, trays, and equipment to ensure availability.Prepare instrument trays and equipment for sterilization processes.Perform decontamination and sterilization of instruments, medical supplies, and equipment.QualificationsMinimum of three years of experience in sterile processing.Prior leadership experience is required.Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems is preferred.National Certifications: CBSPD and/or CRCST – HSPA required.BLS certification is not required.Experience in Level 1 Trauma and with various types of cases (Neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, GYN) preferred.Additional InformationGuaranteed Hours: The facility reserves the right to call off one shift every two weeks.Please note that all employees and contractors are assigned to emergency response teams. Travelers should be aware that this may affect their commitment to new assignments during hurricane season, which runs from June through November, with peak activity in August and September.Client Details State SC
