Job description
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)Evening shift from 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM with a call schedule of 24 hours every Saturday and Sunday every 8 weeks.The Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) will be responsible for the assembly, decontamination, and sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies in an Operating Room setting. This position requires a strong understanding of sterile processing protocols and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Shift Length: 10 hoursGuaranteed Hours: 40 hours per weekMinimum of 1 year of experience in Sterile Processing or a related field.Required Certifications:BLS (AHA)Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) via HSPACertified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)Perform decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments.Utilize ultrasonic cleaning equipment and VPRO sterilization systems effectively.Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sterile processing area.Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.The position involves working in a Sterile Processing Unit that services multiple operating rooms. The environment requires attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with surgical teams.This position reports to Lynnette Burgard, Manager, with support from Rosa and Brandon, the SPD leads.Orientation will be provided on-site, ensuring that new hires are adequately trained in unit-specific protocols and procedures.Self-scheduling is available for holidays.Must adhere to a dress code of blue (ceil) scrubs.Call response time is expected to be within 30 minutes.
