Sterilization Service TechnicianThis 1.0FTE/Full-Time position is scheduled to work 8HR variable shifts and is AFSCME represented.Compensation: Non-exempt, $22.71/HR—$31.38/HR. Whether you are a part-time or full-time member:Health & Wellness Benefits:Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance – With employer paying premiums for full-time employeesMental Health & Wellness Resources – Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Talkspace, and the Calm App.Life InsuranceShort & Long-Term Disability InsuranceFinancial Benefits:Retirement/Deferred Compensation Plans – Mason Health contributes 8% of your compensation every pay period when you contribute at least 5%.Flexible Spending Account (FSA)Tuition Assistance ProgramApproved by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for student loan repayment programs.Time Off & Work-Life Balance:Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) – Accrue up to 8 hours of PTO every bi-weekly pay period, starting with 5 weeks of PTO and increasing to 7+ weeks after 3 years.Exciting Incentive:Employee Referral Program – Earn up to $7,500 depending on the role.Job Summary: The central sterile processing technician coordinates and collaborates the overall cleaning, decontamination, assembly and dispensing of surgical instruments, equipment and supplies needed for daily surgical procedures in surgery.Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities:Responsible for control of all parts of the sterilization process: decontamination, prep, pack, sterilize, documentation of sterilization; and sterile storage including remediation of equipment failures and hazards.Provide integrity and sterility of products and services for the customers.Maintain consistency and continuous workflow between the OR, clinics, OB, ER and Central Service Sterile Processing while practicing excellent customer service.Operate and maintain decontamination equipment. Report systems failures timely and appropriately.Monitor surgery schedules daily, participates in daily checkout as necessary, identifies general, specific and potential needs for all cases. Brings concerns to the lead, charge RN or Director as appropriate for resolution.Operate and maintain autoclaves, V-pro and Steris machines, maintaining accurate records of loads completed, items in loads, and maintenance procedures performed.Monitor surgery schedules daily, identifying general, specific and potential needs for all cases.Participates in continuing education.Other duties as assigned.Required Education and Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent.Graduation from an accredited training program in sterile instrumentation reprocessing.One year of Central Service or Sterile Processing experience preferred.Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:Central Service Technician Certification is required within 6 months of hire.Mason Health practices equal employment opportunity towards all workforce members and applicants for employment.
