Job description
The ancestors of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation existed many centuries ago as a community of people…a Tribe living together, farming, hunting and fishing to survive.
nMuch has changed since that time. Today the Sycuan Tribe governs its Reservation, owns and operates a Casino and a Golf Resort, and owns a number of other business ventures in the San Diego Region.

nJob Purpose:
nProvides clean dishes and utensils, and maintains safe and sanitary kitchens.
nJob Duties and Responsibilities:
n(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)
nnnProvides kitchen with adequate supply of clean pots, pans, utensils and dishware by scraping, racking, stacking and washing, unloading dishwasher, manually washing items as needed and putting items away when dry to the appropriate area.

nnEnsures kitchen safety by organizing soiled pots, pans, and dishes prior to loading them in to dishwasher, mopping and cleaning spills, and placing caution signs on wet floors and in hazardous areas according to established procedures.

nnMaintains sanitary kitchen by cleaning counters, shelves, walls, ceilings and equipment, sweeping and mopping floors, placing soiled linen and towels into appropriate bins according to established procedures.
n
nnEnsures a clean and orderly storage area by arranging and straightening food products and equipment, wiping shelves and counters, disposing of empty cartons, boxes and trash, and sweeping and mopping storage area floors.

nnComplete mandatory trainings including but not limited to health and safety, as required by the department.

nEducation and Experience
nEssential:
nnCounty of San Diego Food Handler Card
n nDesirable:
nnnDishwashing experience
n
nnCustodial or janitorial experience
n
n nSkills and Knowledge
nEssential:
nnnAbility to work effectively with team members

nnAbility to communicate effectively in the English language
n
nnAbility to maintain professionalism and composure
n
nnAbility to understand verbal directives and written instructions
