nWe invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Grand Del Mar, as our new Steward.
nResponsibilities
nStewards are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and all kitchen areas, equipment, dishware, utensils, machines, etc. cleaned and sanitized during each shift. Stewards may also assist in a variety of other tasks as requested. You may also be able to assist in other departments or with other job duties as requested or necessary.
nnWash dishes and operate the dishwasher to clean all chinaware, silverware and cooking utensils.
nTransporting all cleaned utensils to all corresponding storage areas.
nBurnish, de-tarnish and polish silverware and equipment.
nTo make sure that all functions are set up and ready for the next shift.
nMaintain the areas in which the functions are taking place and ensure that all soiled china, glass and silver are returned to the dish washing area as soon as possible for proper cleaning.
nPerform cleaning duties including, but not limited to, mopping and removing of trash from kitchen areas.
nAssist the Stewarding Supervisor with the cleaning of the restaurants and banquet kitchen.
nTo perform general routine cleaning tasks using standard as assigned by Supervisor/Manager, to adhere to health standards.
nTrain other stewards as needed per company standards.
nStock and maintain supplies and equipment as needed for the operation.
nEnsure all dish machines are cleaned at all times to adhere to health standards.
nJob requires dealing with soaps, and cleaning chemicals on a regular basis.
nFollow all standard cleaning procedures and maintains safety practices around machinery.
nMaintains clean and safe work area at all times.
nAlerts manager of any hazardous conditions or safety concerns.
nAdheres to all hotel policies and regulations.
nMaintains dish/workstation and surrounding areas.
nResponsible for fast and efficient cleaning of all items.
nCleans and sanitizes dish area, pulls mats, sweeps and mop floors, cleans coolers and freezers in the kitchens.
n nnQualifications:
Qualifications
nnFood Handlers Card required
nAbility to read and speak English language so as to fully comprehend job requests, caution notices, event orders and similar written materials
nAbility to count service ware during Big Four inventory
nAbility to perform duties with extreme temperature ranges
nKnowledge of equipment and how to maintain it
nSome work experience in stewarding required. Some hospitality experience preferred.
nExperience directly supervising employees preferred.
nHigh School graduate or equivalent required.
n nPhysical Aspects of the position include (but are not limited to):
nnConstant standing and walking throughout the shift
nMust be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height
nMust be able to occasionally push/pull up to 75 lbs
nMust be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
nMust be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
nFrequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs or ramps
n nWage Information
nThe hourly rate for this position is $24.04
nIn addition to the base hourly rate, colleagues will receive a Weekend Premium of $2.00 per hour for all hours work Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
