nJob Description:

nResponsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks. Maintains the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards.

nnDish Room & Housekeeping Position

nnPay Rate: Based on Experience ($17.43 - $22.29)

nnAvailability needed: Sunday-Saturday for variable shifts

n

nnShift Assignments: 7am or 8am-4:30pm, 2pm-10:30pm, 5pm-10pm

n

n nEssential Functions

nnnCleans and sanitizes dishes

n

nnCollects carts with patient trays from hospital floors.

n

nnCleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas using department cleaning procedures.

n

nnUses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.

n

nnUnderstands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.

n

nnOperates and maintains assigned equipment (e.g. commercial dishwasher) according to established procedures.

n nQualifications

nnnFood Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work (required).

nnOne or more year of experience in food services or housekeeping services (preferred)

n

nnDemonstrates ability to read color coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and verbal directions

n

nnDemonstrate ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred)

n

n nPhysical Requirements

nnnOngoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.

n

nnOccasional interaction with customers that requires employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.

n

nnManual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.

n

nnExpected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

n

nnRemain standing for long periods of time to perform work.

n

nnTolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work around dish machines and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
