nREPORTS TO: Senior Director of Behavioral Health Services Department or their designee
nSTIPEND POSITION OVERVIEW: The Behavioral Health Services Department (BHS) seeks to develop a talent pool of current BPS staff to provide compensatory counseling services outside of the school day.
nRESPONSIBILITIES:
nThe BHS counselors will need to be trained in mental health counseling. They will be responsible for:
nnnSchedule counseling sessions with the parent and student
n
nnProvide in-person or virtual counseling to individual students based on their IEPs
n
nnTrack services given in Edplan and complete other data requests regarding the services when asked
n
nnComplete IEP progress reports when requested
n
n nTERMS:
nnnOSS expects a minimum of 2-4 hours and a maximum of 20 hours weekly.
n
nnAs approved by the Deputy Chief of Services or their designee, the counselor can be compensated for travel to and from the location where the services are provided. This time will be compensated at the BTU hourly rate.
n
nnThe provider is responsible for completing all planning and documentation as expected. This work will be compensated at the BTU hourly rate at an additional 15 minutes for every hour of service provided.
n
nnAll work must be completed outside the regular workday.

n nQUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED :
nnnCurrently working in Boston Public Schools;
n
nnAppropriate licensure
