Job Description

VLCM is looking for an experienced Storage and Data Protection Engineer to join our engineering team and help design, implement, and support enterprise storage, backup, recovery, and data protection solutions for our customers.

The position will work directly with customers, as well as VLCM's sales and engineering teams, throughout the solution lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with enterprise storage and data protection environments and is comfortable working directly with customers, from technical discovery and solution design through implementation, troubleshooting, and ongoing support. While EverPure and Cohesity will be important areas of focus, this role will also work across other storage, backup, virtualization, and data center technologies based on customer needs.

Perform implementations, migrations, upgrades, expansions, and optimization of storage and data protection environments.

Troubleshoot complex storage, backup, recovery, performance, and connectivity issues.

Work closely with VLCM Account Managers, Solution Architects, and other engineering resources during the pre-sales process, including solution design and technical validation.

Develop scopes of work and assist with estimating the engineering effort required for customer projects.

Provide technical demonstrations, presentations, and proof‑of‑concept support when needed.

Follow vendor and industry best practices for data protection, resiliency, security, and infrastructure design.

Maintain strong technical knowledge of EverPure and Cohesity solutions and stay current on new products, features, best practices, and certifications.

Develop knowledge and expertise across additional storage and data protection technologies supported by VLCM.

Document customer environments, configurations, project work, and recommended solutions.

Serve as a trusted technical resource for customers and take ownership of technical issues through resolution.

Collaborate with other VLCM engineers across data center, virtualization, networking, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
