About the Role
Black Apron Hospitality Group is looking for an experienced restaurant leader to take ownership of the day-to-day operation of our high-volume Talkin' Tacos Temple Terrace location.
This is an opportunity for someone who has moved beyond simply running shifts and is ready to operate a restaurant as a business. We're looking for a leader who understands people, operations and numbers, takes initiative, develops a strong team and knows how to keep a restaurant performing at a high level.
You’ll report directly to a General Manager with Black Apron Hospitality Group, who will provide oversight, direction and support. You’ll work closely together on performance, financial targets and restaurant strategy, while you take ownership of the daily execution of the location.
We’re looking for someone who can be trusted to lead, execute and solve problems without constant direction or follow-up.
Compensation & Benefits
$65,000-$70,000 annual salary , based on experience
KPI-based quarterly performance bonuses
Health, Dental and Vision benefits
Free meals while on shift
Significant autonomy for leaders who consistently deliver results
Growth opportunities within Black Apron Hospitality Group and our expanding restaurant portfolio
What You’ll Own
Lead all day-to-day FOH and BOH restaurant operations
Recruit, train, coach and develop a high-performing team
Build strong shift leaders and maintain a dependable leadership structure
Create schedules based on sales forecasts, labor targets and business needs
Manage labor, food cost, waste and other controllable expenses
Oversee inventory, ordering, receiving and vendor coordination
Monitor sales, restaurant KPIs and operational performance
Handle payroll review, timekeeping and required employee administration
Maintain food quality, speed of service, cleanliness and hospitality standards
Ensure food safety, health department and company compliance
Address employee performance issues and maintain accountability
Resolve guest concerns and protect the overall guest experience
Proactively manage equipment, maintenance and facility needs
Communicate restaurant performance, challenges and opportunities to the GM
Execute operational initiatives and action plans developed with the GM
This is a hands-on leadership position. You’ll be expected to lead from the floor when needed while also having the operational and administrative ability to manage the business behind the scenes.
What We’re Looking For
3+ years of restaurant management experience strongly preferred
Proven experience managing a high-volume restaurant
Strong knowledge of both FOH and BOH operations
Experience with scheduling, forecasting and labor management
Experience managing inventory, food cost and waste
Working knowledge of restaurant P&L and controllable expenses
Experience recruiting, training, coaching and holding teams accountable
Strong administrative, organizational and communication skills
Ability to identify problems, make sound decisions and follow through without constant supervision
Experience with POS, scheduling and restaurant management systems
Ability to develop leaders and build a restaurant that performs even when you’re not physically present
This Role Is a Strong Fit If You:
Think like an operator, not simply a shift supervisor
Take initiative and bring solutions to your GM, not just problems
Are comfortable being accountable for both the people and the numbers
Know how to build a team you can trust and hold them to high standards
Want autonomy, accountability and the opportunity to be rewarded for results
Restaurant leadership occasionally requires being available outside of scheduled hours. While we believe in building a strong team that allows managers to enjoy their time away from the restaurant, the Store Manager is expected to remain reasonably reachable by their leadership team and GM for urgent operational matters when necessary.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for someone who wants to run a restaurant, not just manage a shift.
You’ll have the support and resources of a General Manager and Black Apron Hospitality Group while being trusted to take real ownership of your location. For the right operator, this is an opportunity to make an impact, earn performance-based compensation and grow with an expanding hospitality group.
If you’re a proven restaurant leader who takes pride in building teams, managing numbers, solving problems and delivering results, we’d like to talk.
