Job description
The Store Manager of Lighthouse Kids Co. is responsible for leading all aspects of retail operations, delivering exceptional guest service, driving sales performance, and creating a welcoming shopping experience for guests and families visiting The Sea Pines Resort. This role oversees daily store operations, merchandising, inventory management, team leadership, and financial performance while ensuring the store reflects the resort's commitment to excellence, hospitality, and brand standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members to deliver exceptional guest service.
Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive work environment.
Conduct regular performance discussions and provide ongoing feedback.
Schedule staff to ensure appropriate coverage while managing labor expenses.
Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, and service excellence.
Promote a culture aligned with The Sea Pines Resort's values and service standards.
Guest Experience
Deliver a warm, personalized, and memorable shopping experience for every guest.
Resolve guest questions, concerns, and service issues promptly and professionally.
Ensure team members engage guests with enthusiasm, product knowledge, and hospitality.
Support resort initiatives focused on Forbes Travel Guide service standards and exceptional guest experiences.
Create an inviting atmosphere that encourages repeat visits and guest loyalty.
Retail Operations
Manage daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and cash-handling standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.
Monitor and protect company assets through effective loss prevention practices.
Ensure operational consistency and adherence to established retail standards.
Drive revenue growth through effective leadership, selling strategies, and guest engagement.
Monitor and analyze sales performance, key metrics, and inventory levels.
Identify opportunities to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
Manage payroll, inventory, and expenses within established budgets.
Achieve or exceed sales goals and performance objectives.
Merchandising & Inventory Management
Execute visual merchandising standards that enhance the guest experience and maximize sales.
Maintain appropriate inventory levels through purchasing, receiving, and stock management.
Monitor product assortment and make recommendations based on sales trends and guest preferences.
Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
Coordinate seasonal and promotional merchandising initiatives.
Administrative Responsibilities
Prepare reports related to sales, inventory, labor, and operational performance.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Communicate effectively with resort leadership and retail management.
Participate in meetings, training programs, and resort initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years of retail management experience.
Proven ability to lead and develop teams.
Strong customer service and guest relations skills.
Experience managing sales goals, payroll, inventory, and store operations.
Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, Hospitality, or related field.
Experience in resort, hospitality, specialty retail, or luxury retail environments.
Knowledge of children's apparel, toys, gifts, and lifestyle retail products.
Experience supporting Forbes Travel Guide or luxury service standards.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb ladders as needed.
Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
Retail store environment within a luxury resort setting.
Requires flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
Frequent interaction with resort guests, visitors, and team members.
