Role Description The Store Manager role at Dollar General is a full-time, on-site position based in Rocky Mount, NC. The Store Manager oversees daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, merchandising, inventory management, and cash handling. This role is responsible for leading and coaching store associates, setting clear performance expectations, and fostering a customer-focused environment. The Store Manager monitors sales performance, manages labor and expense controls, and ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and retail loss prevention practices. This position also involves resolving customer concerns, maintaining a clean and organized store, and supporting community engagement efforts that reflect Dollar General’s mission and values.
Qualifications
Strong customer-focused skills, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with the ability to build positive relationships and resolve issues effectively.
Demonstrated leadership in Store Management, including supervising teams, coordinating daily operations, and driving sales and performance results.
Effective Communication skills, both verbal and written, to provide clear direction, feedback, and support to team members and customers.
Knowledge of Retail Loss Prevention practices, including monitoring compliance, identifying risks, and implementing measures to reduce shrink.
Previous retail or store management experience, preferably in a high-volume or value-focused environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require.
Proficiency with basic computer applications and point-of-sale systems.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business, retail management, or a related field is a plus.
Capacity to stand, walk, lift, and move merchandise throughout the shift, in accordance with job-related physical requirements.
