A leading middle-market investment bank, private equity firm, or corporate development team may seek a Strategic Due Diligence Officer to support commercial, financial, and operational diligence across mergers, acquisitions, investments, and strategic transactions.

Key Responsibilities
Support end-to-end due diligence efforts across M&A and investment transactions
Conduct commercial and strategic analysis , including market sizing, competitive positioning, and customer dynamics
Analyze business models, revenue drivers, cost structures, and unit economics
Assist in validating management projections and investment theses
Identify and assess key risks, synergies, and value creation opportunities
Coordinate diligence workflows, including data room review and information requests
Collaborate with investment bankers, consultants, and internal stakeholders on diligence findings
Prepare due diligence summaries, investment memoranda, and committee materials
Support integration planning considerations informed by diligence insights
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, or a related discipline
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset
Understanding of M&A transactions, valuation concepts, and investment decision-making
Ability to synthesize large volumes of information into clear, actionable insights
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail with strong organizational capabilities
Ability to manage multiple diligence workstreams under tight deadlines
Prior internship or experience in investment banking, strategy consulting, private equity, transaction advisory, or corporate development is beneficial
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint , and financial research tools
