Job description
Strip & Test Operator - Off ShiftResponsible to conduct integrity test of hose by using pressurized water. Operator will also expel mandrel from hose.Must be capable of following and meeting standard work requirements for assembly, packaging, processing, and inspection of final product.Assure all necessary documents required are properly prepared and completed.Ensure quality by:a. Performing quality inspectionsb. Pressure checking hose to specification requirementsc. Identifying and eliminating known defectsd. Assures the final product meets customer requirementse. Document good and non-conforming productf. Provides required samples to the QA departmentg. Detects and report problem areas or unusual conditions to supervisorOperator will prioritize job duties based on information obtained from the Work Leader/Value Stream Team Leader.Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.Maintain production schedules.Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.Other duties may be assigned later.Report directly to Value Stream Team LeaderWork closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipmentStanding is required for extended periods of time. Bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and grasping are done on a frequent basis. Climbing, carrying, stooping, kneeling, and lifting overhead are performed on an occasional basis.Required PPE:Safety glassesANSI Z41 Safety ShoesHearing protectionKevlar glovesOperation may cause exposure to water. Wet clothes or shoes/boots is possible.
