Struct & Payload Design Engr 3
Location: North Charleston, South Carolina (Onsite)
Role Overview
Our organization is seeking a Struct & Payload Design Engineer to join a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role involves the design and build of aircraft interiors, such as stow bins and crew areas, with a focus on structural and mechanical aspects. The selected candidate will engage in work that spans the product lifecycle, from customer configuration and supplier engagement to design verification, production system fabrication, and certification support. You will interface with project engineering, production, program teams, and management to implement engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and modify structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools.
Provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers.
Perform and integrate analytical and test results to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Manage supplier development, test, and production activities, coordinating to optimize design and achieve program goals.
Develop new design and analysis processes to improve development effectiveness, quality, and efficiency.
Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs.
Provide engineering support and project leadership within a production system.
Validate and demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Structural, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil engineering is required. Technology degrees are not permitted for this role.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in engineering, including design, integration, and/or certification. A Master's degree may substitute for two years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with a demanding production system.
Demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or its EASA equivalent.
Experience in aerospace interiors, materials and properties, design criteria, and release processes.
Experience in program or project management, including the development and execution of schedules, financial assessments, and risk management.
Experience leading a cross-functional team.
A demonstrated interest in continuous personal learning and development.
A motivated and inquisitive attitude with the ability to articulate technical experience.
