Responsibilities
Lead the structural design process from initial concept through to final construction documentation for a variety of local projects.
Perform detailed structural analysis and calculations to ensure every design meets safety and efficiency standards.
Collaborate closely with architects and contractors to solve complex design challenges in real-time.
Conduct site visits around the Reno area to inspect progress and ensure work aligns with our structural plans.
Mentor junior staff members by sharing your technical knowledge and helping them grow their own design capabilities.
Coordinate with municipal departments and building officials to secure necessary permits and approvals.
Requirements
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Nevada, or the ability to obtain it within six months.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Minimum of four years of hands-on experience in structural design for commercial or residential buildings.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural analysis software like RISA-3D or RAM.
Strong understanding of current IBC and ASCE 7 building codes.
Effective written communication skills for producing clear technical reports and construction documents.
Working knowledge of Revit or similar BIM software is a significant plus.
