Job Description Job Description As a Structural Fitter, you will fabricate and assemble steel frames, beams, and industrial equipment structures as part of a dedicated fitting crew. Reporting to the fabrication supervisor, you will work closely with welders to interpret blueprints, prepare components for welding, and ensure accurate, high-quality assemblies using structural fabrication tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
Interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings for structural assemblies.
Fabricate steel components using plasma cutters, torches, magnetic drills, grinders, and automated fabrication machinery.
Assemble steel frames, beams, and industrial equipment structures.
Align, position, and fit components to specified dimensions and tolerances.
Prepare assemblies and joints for welding in partnership with welders.
Operate overhead cranes and rigging equipment to safely handle materials and components.
Perform self-checks against drawings, fit-up inspections before welding, and dimensional verification.
Complete formal quality documentation and support quality control activities.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience in structural steel fitting.
High school diploma or equivalent.
