Job description

Structural QC InspectorThe Structural QC Inspector supports the Structural QC Lead by verifying that all assigned structural-related activities conform to engineering designs, codes, regulations, and Tesla standards. This position performs field inspections and QC documentation under the direction of the Structural QC Lead, using solid technical judgment and practical problem-solving to help achieve project quality objectives.ResponsibilitiesInspect structural steel fabrication, erection, and installation in accordance with specifications, drawings, and applicable codes and standardsPerform visual weld inspections, fit-up, joint prep, preheat/interpass, WPS/PQR compliance, filler materials, and completed welds meet acceptance criteriaWitness and coordinate NDE activities on structural welds and base materials, verifying methods, procedures, and technician certifications meet project and code requirementsInspect high-strength bolted connections; verify bolt grade, size, and installation in accordance with AISC 360, RCSC, and project specificationsVerify material traceability and PMI for steel members, connections, and weld consumables; confirm MTRs, heat numbers, and material markings match project requirementsIdentify, document, and track structural nonconformances; coordinate with the Structural QC Lead, engineering, and construction to ensure root cause analysis is performed and corrective actions are verified prior to work continuationMaintain inspection records, weld logs, NDE reports, bolt installation records, and material traceability documentation; support ITP hold/witness point signoffs and turnover packages for Quality Assurance team acceptanceRequirementsMinimum of 3 years' experience as a structural QC inspector on large-scale industrial projectsDemonstrated ability to read and interpret discipline-specific technical documents, communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors, and support resolution per direction of the LeadPossesses solid knowledge of quality control program requirements and key construction codes; proficient with inspection tools and testing methods; working knowledge of NDE testing methods and proceduresDemonstrate proficient problem-solving skills and the ability to present issues to the Structural QC Lead along with recommended corrective action solutionsPossesses a working knowledge of quality management principles and the ability to apply them during construction and testing phases of the project in accordance with the project quality plan and applicable codes and standardsAbility to work in a fast-paced construction environment, meet inspection schedules, follow direction from the Structural QC Lead, and collaborate with crews and project teams while maintaining attention to detail and specification complianceCompensation & BenefitsBenefitsAlong with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:Medical plans with $0 payroll deductionFamily-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefitsDental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contributionCompany Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSAHealthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefitsCompany paid Basic Life, AD&DShort-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period)Employee Assistance ProgramSick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid HolidaysBack-up childcare and parenting support resourcesVoluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insuranceWeight Loss and Tobacco Cessation ProgramsTesla Babies programCommuter benefitsEmployee discounts and perks program
