Structural Steel Shop ForemanThe Berlin Steel Construction Company is a full-service specialty contractor, primarily with structural steel and miscellaneous metals. We design, fabricate, and erect structures in the Northeast and in other parts of the country. We have 2 fabrication facilities, 4 erection operations facilities, and 6 office locations that provide engineering and management of projects. We are a 100% employee-owned company (ESOP) with a desire for growth. We service the private commercial, public, institutional, and industrial markets.We are currently seeking an experienced Structural Steel Shop Foreman to join our structural fabrication shop, FEI, LTD. in Natural Bridge Station, VA. This role is responsible for overseeing daily fabrication operations and ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-quality workflow. As an employee-owned business, we take pride in our work and invest in each other's success.Key Responsibilities:Oversee daily shop operations, including material receiving, storage, and workflow coordinationAssign and delegate work to shop personnel, ensuring proper training and competencyMonitor material flow to align with fabrication schedules and minimize downtimeEnsure parts, materials, and equipment are available and ready for productionMaintain shop equipment to ensure safe and efficient operationConduct new hire orientations focused on safety and job responsibilitiesLead shop operations in the absence of the Plant Manager, including:Reviewing drawings and new jobsManaging shop schedulesFacilitating weekly toolbox safety meetingsCoordinating with internal teams (Production Control, PMs, Purchasing, Payroll, etc.)Perform quality control checks in accordance with company standardsWork Environment & Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Frequent stooping, bending, and physical activityMust always wear appropriate PPEHigh attention to safety to prevent injury to self and othersQualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience in a structural steel fabrication shopAt least 1 year in a leadership or lead roleStrong ability to read and interpret blueprintsSolid math and technical skillsProven ability to prioritize workflow and meet deadlinesStrong leadership, communication, and team-building skillsAbility to maintain accurate records and production logsBenefitsPaid Time Off (PTO)Paid holidaysHSA/FSA PlanHealth, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife and Disability Insurance401(k) plan with employer contributionsEmployee Stock Ownership PlanWe are an EOE.Apply Today!
