Structural Steel Project Engineer
Location: Albertson, NY (Long Island / NYC area)

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Project Engineer to manage and coordinate structural steel projects from engineering and design through fabrication and field installation.
Key Responsibilities
Manage structural steel projects from kickoff through completion.
Review structural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, fabricators, contractors, and field teams.
Prepare and review material takeoffs, estimates, RFIs, and change orders.
Monitor project schedules, budgets, materials, and deliverables.
Troubleshoot engineering and fabrication issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with AISC standards, applicable building codes, project specifications, and safety requirements.
Support fabrication and field installation teams while communicating project updates and risks to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in structural steel projects, steel fabrication, erection, or structural engineering.
Strong understanding of structural steel design, fabrication, and erection processes.
Ability to read and interpret structural and shop drawings.
Experience with AutoCAD; knowledge of Tekla Structures, SDS/2, or similar software is a plus.
Familiarity with AISC standards and applicable building codes.
Strong project coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with structural steel contractors or fabricators.
EIT or PE certification.
Experience with commercial, industrial, or large-scale steel structures.
Preference: Candidates located in Long Island, Albertson, or the greater NYC area.
