Please review the job details below.Lanteris Space is currently seeking an Structures Design Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. In this role you will manage the design and development of spacecraft structures and secondary supports. Additional responsibilities include generating drawings, supporting spacecraft structure build and supporting special projects dealing with structural products.ResponsibilitiesCreate product specifications, negotiate design details, interfaces, test plans/procedures, and mfg/test processes based on program requirements.Assist in oversight for the integration of subcontracted hardware into spacecraft systems architecture.Generate engineering drawing and models with Creo and other design tools.Help disposition nonconformances and drive for process improvementsMinimum requirementsMust be a U.S. citizen or permanent residentBachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace), or related field2 years of experiencePiece part and subassembly modeling in CREO or other CAD software and assembly drawing generationPreferred QualificationsStrong project management skillsDetailed understanding of top-level assembly models, product structure, and billing of materials (BOM) definition.Possess understanding of design practices for release, redline, and engineering change notice processesComfortable working on interdisciplinary teams, internally and externallyComfortable leading and conducting meetings with customers, vendors, and different levels of managementKnowledge in skills such as manufacturing process, soldering, mechanical assembly, electromechanical integration, etc. of flight equipmentExperience with Creo, and matrix laboratory (MATLAB)/Simulink. Ability to assume role as sub-system owner and/or lead multidisciplinary team for fulfillment of programmatic requirementsAbility to evaluate processes for non-value-added steps and continuous improvement opportunitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsGroup project experience, ability to collaborate with team members of different technical disciplinesStrong verbal and written communication, organization, and leadership skillsIn support of pay transparency at Lanteris Space Systems, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range. The base pay for this position within California is: $82,000.00 - $136,000.00 annually.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, health and welfare insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
