Substitute Cafeteria Helpers-Child Nutrition
The Akron Board of Education announces openings for substitute cafeteria helpers in child nutrition. This is a school employees retirement system position. The hourly rate is $15.39 per hour. This position is available as and when needed basis, averaging 20-25 hours per week. The superintendent reserves the right to keep the position open until suitable applicants are found or to cancel and repost the position with changes as deemed appropriate.
Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or G.E.D.; Must satisfactorily complete Bureau of Criminal Investigation and FBI background checks; Dependable transportation; Landline or cell phone. Desired: Foodservice experience.
Position description: This position involves routine, but responsible work in the preparation of meals for school cafeterias. Basic mathematics, computer, and money handling skills; Performs various physical tasks related to food preparation, service and cleaning; Ability to work quickly, accurately, and neatly; Follows all food safety and sanitation requirements; Interacts in a positive manner with students, faculty, and coworkers; Operates foodservice equipment, computerized register; frequent and regular requirement to lift (40 lbs.), stand for extended periods, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, stand, bend, reach and stoop.
