Substitute Custodian (Non-Guaranteed Hours)Maintain the proper upkeep and cleanliness of the buildings and grounds; maintain the utility infrastructure of the school campus when called to substitute for a permanent position.Compensation: Pay range: $17.00/hr. Benefits: For employees contracted for 30 hours per week or more, Thomas MacLaren School pays for 100% of the employee's base insurance premiums (Health, Dental, Vision, Long-term and Short-term disability, Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance, and Life insurance) for the base level coverages. No benefits are provided to employees contracted for less than 30 hours per week.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Perform daily custodial operations including cleaning of classrooms, offices, restrooms, laboratories, stairways, corridors, closets, gymnasium, locker rooms, and lobbiesFollow Universal Standard Precautions and safety protocol when appropriateMaintain the upkeep of the facility and furniture to include repairs, painting, and cleaning, including the management of waste disposalAssist the facility manager in the maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems of the facilityPerform routine and special project work on the facility and grounds (e.g., building drama set for school play)Assist with snow removal and grounds maintenanceAttend all training as assigned by Facility ManagerOther duties as assigned by the Executive DirectorQualifications:Self-motivated with the ability to perform duties with minimal oversightExcellent communication skillsWorks well on a teamEnthusiasm for working in a school environment, serving its students and staffPhysical Requirements of this position include:WORKING ENVIRONMENT: - SELDOM - OCCASIONAL - FREQUENTEXTREME COLD OR HEAT - x - VISUAL ACUITY: Near/Far - xHEIGHTS - x - HEARING - xNOISE - x - SPEECH - xDRIVING - x - EYE/HAND COORDIN. - xWALKING/Uneven Surfaces - x - TRAVEL:WORKING ALONE - x - Local - xWORK WITH OTHERS - x - National - xMOVING HEAVY ITEMS: - SELDOM - OCCASIONAL - FREQUENTOPERATING MACHINERY:LIFTING/LOWERING - Over 100 lb - 31 to 99 lbs. - 0 to 30 lbs. - Grounds keeping tools - xLIFTING OVER SHOULDER - Over 100 lb - 31 to 99 lbs. - 0 to 30 lbs. - Maintenance tools - xREACHING OVER SHOULDER - Over 100 lb - 31 to 99 lbs. - 0 to 30 lbs. - Cleaning tools - xCARRYING - Over 100 lb - 31 to 99 lbs. - 0 to 30 lbsPUSHING/PULLING - Over 100 lb - 31 to 99 lbs. - 0 to 30 lbsPULLING - Over 100 lb - 31 to 99 lbs. - 0 to 30 lbs
