Substitute CustodianSubstitute Custodian District Wide Shift Hours: Varies by day and building. Please see attached job description. During the summer the hours may be modified to a day shift. Position Purpose: The Custodian supports the staff and students of USD 232 by providing a safe, clean, operational, and productive learning environment with a customer service mindset. Starting Salary: $16.64/hour (commensurate with experience). Anticipated start date: Rolling start date through the school year. Requirements: All employees must have a current TB test (Tuberculosis). If you've had a recent TB Test (less than 12 months ago) we can accept a copy of your test results. If it's been more than 1 year ago, you will be required to obtain a new test. Employees are responsible for the cost of the test. Must pass standardized strength & agility testing requiring lifting up to 50 pounds. Must submit a pre employment physical prior to first day of work.Position PurposeThe substitute custodian supports the staff and students of USD 232 by providing a safe, clean, operational, and productive learning environment with a customer service mindset, on an as-needed basis.SupervisionBuilding Lead/Custodial SupervisorBenefitsThis position is not eligible for benefits.QualificationsAbility to read chemical labelsAbility to work independently without supervisionMust be available to work some weekendsCompletion of clear, criminal background checkCurrent Certificate of Health, including negative TB test on file in District officeMust pass standard strength and agility testRequires prolonged sitting or standingPhysical Requirements & ConditionsRequires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects, up to 50 pounds. Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching. Requires climbing and balancing. Must work indoors and outdoors year-round. Must work in noisy and crowded environments. Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors.
