Job TitleCleaning and Maintenance Facility WorkerQualificationsPass Assessment TestRequirements for HireAll applicants must:Complete application for this position (including 2 references)Successfully complete an interview with a member of the OUSD hiring teamsTo expedite hire processing, candidates may gather the following materials:Negative TB test current within past 60 daysSealed copies of all college transcriptsValid Driver's License, ID card, Permanent Residency Card or current US passportSocial Security Card (no copies)All hires are contingent on applicant passing criminal background check.DescriptionBasic Function: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, clean and maintain an assigned school facility in a clean, orderly, and secure mannerRepresentative Duties: (Incumbents may perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or abilities associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the principal job elements)Essential FunctionsSweep, mop, strip, wax, and seal floors; vacuum rugs and carpets.Dust, wash, and polish furniture and woodwork.Empty and clean waste receptacles, including trash barrels.Clean restroom, locker room, and shower.Wash windows and wall, polish metal work and clean chalkboards.Move and arrange furniture and equipment in preparing multipurpose rooms or classrooms for special events or meetings.Pick up paper and other debris from school grounds, walk areas, and the areas adjacent to the school facilities; sweep concrete surfaces adjacent to the school buildings.Perform special maintenance projects as assigned.Perform emergency cleanup service resulting from breakage, vandalism, spilling, and illness.Assist in maintaining school security and fire safety as assigned; assist in maintaining fire extinguishers.Communicate with students, faculty, and the public; provide directions or other information; establish communication according to established guidelines.Perform minor maintenance work as assigned.Perform related duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsTraining, Education and Experience: Any combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to: Graduation from high school and sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed. Licenses and Other Requirements: Personality and character suitable to work in schools.
