Substitute CustodianWe are seeking individuals to join our School and Facilities team as a Substitute - Custodian. This position is essential for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within our facilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Responsibilities:Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing various areas of the facility.Ensure that restrooms, hallways, classrooms, and common areas are clean and well-maintained.Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for events and meetings.Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Facilities Manager promptly.Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to established protocols.Follow established schedules for cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure all areas are serviced regularly.Collaborate with other staff members to support overall facility operations.Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.Requirements:Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus but not required.Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as stand or walk for extended periods.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings.Background check required.
