Job description

Custodial SubstituteThe Custodial Substitute will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in the Tenino School District. This is a substitute position that may require work on short notice. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, offices, restrooms, and other school facilities; sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors; dusting and wiping down surfaces; collecting and disposing of trash and recycling; setting up and taking down chairs, tables, and other equipment for events; reporting any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel; following safety procedures and guidelines; and other duties as assigned.Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, prior custodial experience preferred, ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong attention to detail, good communication skills, physical ability to perform custodial tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, and ability to pass a background check and Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance.The district will provide equal educational opportunity for all students in all aspects of the academic and activities program without discrimination based on race, religion, creed, color, national origin, age, honorably discharged veteran or military status, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, marital status, the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability, or the use of a trained dog guide or service animal by a person with a disability.
