Substitute Custodians2026 - 2027 School Year District Wide, Building & Grounds DepartmentSubstitute CustodiansQualifications:Be a licensed driver and/or have transportation to and from work sites.Strong interpersonal and communication skillsCompliance with the NJ FIRST ActSuccessful Criminal History ClearanceProof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorizationAbility to perform the essential functions of their position at 100% capacity, without any permanent physical limitations that would limit his/her ability.Essential Functions/ Frequent Physical duties:Working with/ near cleaning chemicals and fumesLift/ Carry 1 - 50 pounds unassistedPush/ Pull 1 - 50 pounds unassistedBend/ Stoop/ TwistCrouch/ SquatReach above and below shouldersRepetitive arm and wrist useWalking (on even walking surface)Occasional Physical duties:Lift/ Carry 51 - 100 poundsPush/ Pull 51 - 100 poundsRepetitive Grabbing/ SqueezingClimb ladder/ stairsWalking (on uneven walking surfaces)Working with/ near building maintenance equipment, power tools, heights and tight placesOther duties as may be assignedTerms of Employment & CompensationFor the 26/27 SY, compensation is $16/ hourly, as needed, not to exceed 29 hours per week. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.This is a temporary substitute assignment with a fixed contract for the school year. This position does not include year-round employment, benefits, or guaranteed continued assignment beyond the designated season/ contracted period.
