Substitute Custodian PositionEaston, Redding & Region 9 Schools are seeking reliable individuals who will serve as substitute custodians in our five schools. Hours of work vary, but most shifts are 2 pm to 10 pm or 3 pm to 11 pm. Upon completion of your application, please contact the Human Resources Department for next steps in the hiring process. Substitute pay is $18.50/hour.Qualifications:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the communityAbility to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policiesFingerprinting/background check requiredReports To and Receives Instruction From: Head Custodian and/or Lead Night CustodianJob Responsibilities Include:Cleans and monitors designated spaces and equipment in the building, including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping and waxing floors; rubbish removalCleans and disinfects bathroom sinks, toilets and urinals, mirrorsChecks hand soap, paper towel, & tissue suppliesCleans classroom sinks/faucetsReplaces light bulbs as neededUnlocks and locks premises, secures windows and activates/deactivates the alarm systemsCleans and maintains custodial equipment daily after each useHelps in unloading of freight as needed with delivery to specified areasMoves classroom furniture/boxed supplies as neededAssists in clearing/sanding of school sidewalks and entrances during inclement weatherPhysical Demands of Job:Frequent walking, bending, twisting and lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucksContinuous use of hand strength to grasp tools and cleaning equipment and climb on laddersPush/pull items such as tables, stacked chairs, bleachers, and/or cleaning equipmentEqual Opportunity Employer: The Easton, Redding & Region 9 Public School District are committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation, genetic information or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws.
