GROUNDS WORKERPay Rate: $17.50/hr Applicants must be available to work on an "as needed" basis.Jackson, New JerseyReports To: Directly responsible to the Director of Buildings & GroundsJob Goal: To perform duties in the most efficient manner possible and cooperate with the Grounds Worker Director of Buildings & Grounds in the interest of the school system.Performance Responsibilities:1. Directly responsible to the Director of Buildings & Grounds.2. Shall be employed on a twelve (12) month basis with work day schedule as determined by the Director of Buildings & Grounds. Shall perform in accordance with the negotiated agreement between the Board of Education and Teamsters Local No. 97.3. Shall perform all duties in the most efficient manner possible and cooperate with the Grounds Worker Director of Buildings & Grounds in the interest of the school system.4. Shall wear uniform provided by the Board of Education.5. Must work with Maintenance and Custodial personnel as required by the Facilities Department.6. Perform duties such as, but not limited to:7. Cutting and trimming lawns and fields8. Filling holes in fields, driveways, parking lots, sidewalks, etc.9. Lining fields for physical education and athletic events10. Installation and removal of fencing and playground equipment11. Work on garbage truck as assigned12. Rake leaves and disposes of debris13. Maintain all lawn sprinkler operations in district14. Perform preventative maintenance on all grounds equipment on a daily basis15. Set equipment as required by a specific sport16. Perform any other tasks assigned by the Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendent of Schools, or their designee, where circumstances prevent assignment through the chain of command described herein.Terms of salary and work year to be determined by the board.Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with state law and provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of non-certified staff.Approved By: Board Agenda DATE: 4/24/2012Revised: 1/21/2014
