Job description
Substitute Para-Educator
As a Substitute Para-Educator, you will be working in our Special Education Programs and/or Alternative Education Programs on an on-call basis to provide assistance to the classroom teacher. Typically, you will be called on the morning of the day you are needed to work, usually between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. It is a requirement that all Substitute Para-Educators have a high school diploma or equivalent, and either 48 college units or passing score on the paraprofessional Exam administered by our office.
Must have completed one of the following at the time of applying: 48 semester units of higher education; OR, an associates degree or higher; OR, passing score on the paraprofessional exam (70% or higher in both ELA and Math). If you need to pass the exam to meet the proficiency requirement, you may contact Human Resources at . Proficiency exams are given approximately every two weeks.
