Substitute School Bus Attendants, Continuous Recruitment
The Liverpool Central School District offers a variety of opportunities for educators and staff seeking employment in a supportive and dynamic environment. The district is organized into four quadrants, each containing elementary (K-2 and 3-5) and middle schools (6-8), and includes a high school (9-12).
Responsibilities
Assist students in safely boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring secure seating and proper use of seat belts and harnesses.
Monitor student behavior during transport, maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
Provide support to students with disabilities or special needs, including securing wheelchairs and mobility devices as required.
Communicate effectively with the school bus driver and transportation staff regarding student concerns or incidents.
Maintain order and follow district policies regarding student conduct and safety.
Assist in emergency evacuation procedures and respond appropriately in case of emergencies.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience working with children is preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively with bus drivers, school staff, and parents.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and patient in stressful situations.
Must pass all required background checks and drug screenings.
