Position Summary...At Sam’s Club, we’re committed to developing the next generation of retail leaders. Our 10-week summer Merchandising Internship offers college juniors the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in product strategy, merchandise planning, and retail execution while working alongside industry leaders at a world-class company.
What you’ll do
Internship Overview As a Merchandising Intern, you will lead a 10-week project to solve a real business problem within merchandising. Using data, financial metrics, and member insights, you will develop and execute your solution and present your insights to leadership, demonstrating how your work drives value for Sam’s Club members. You will gain direct exposure to the roles of merchants, planners, and replenishment teams, and learn about the membership model and Sam’s Club strategy. The program includes speaker sessions led by C-suite executives from across Walmart Inc., networking and social events, and mentorship opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a 10-week capstone project addressing a real merchandising challenge.
Analyze data and financial metrics to develop actionable insights.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including merchants, planners, and replenishment.
Present project outcomes to senior leadership.
Participate in executive speaker sessions and networking events.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled as a Junior in an undergraduate program with a graduation date of December 2027 or Spring 2028.
Authorization to work in the US without restrictions at the time of application.
Preferred majors: Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, or related fields.
Passion for retail and merchandising.
Interest in exploring and responsibly using emerging technologies, including generative AI tools, to enhance research, analysis, problem-solving, and productivity.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Adaptability, curiosity, and a solid foundation in financial management.

The hourly wage range for this position is $21.00 - $40.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
